Dr. Mahaveer
Jain holds a doctorate degree in psychology from Delhi
University. He has served in this Institute in various
capacities since 1983. He is an accredited trainer and
recognized and stablist facilitator in organizing and
conducting sensitivity laboratories of the Indian Society for
Applied Behavioural Science (ISABS), the only Society that is
giving accreditation for trainers in Applied Behavioural
Science since 1986. Dr. Jain has served the ISABS in various
capacities at national and regional levels. He has also been
a member of various committees on Professional and Social
Development in the Society.
He has been
trained by International Labour Organisation (ILO) at
International Training Centre, Turin, Italy on child labour
and also got trained by Department of Personnel, Government of
India on Direct Trainer skills. He has 30 years experience
working with senior management and union representatives at
national and international levels. He is well known in the
field of Child Labour, Bonded Labour, Organising the
Unorganised, Applied Behavioural Science, Sensitivity
Training, Quality of Working Life, HRD, Motivation,
Communication, Team Building and Organisational Development,
and developing change agents and internal facilitators.
Dr. Jain has
conducted about 100 in-house training programmes for many
organizations such as International Labour Organization;
UNICEF; Indian Institute of Management, Indore; Indian Navy;
Hero Honda Motors Limited; M.V. Foundation, Secunderabad;
Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited; Indian Institute of Health
Management and Research, Jaipur; Nuclear Fuel Complex,
Department of Atomic Energy; Gas Authority of India Limited;
Power Grid Corporation of India; Bharat Electronics Limited
etc. Dr. Jain has developed several training modules for ILO,
UNICEF, and Government of Andhra Pradesh on developing
trainers on child labour. He is founder of National Resource
Centre on Child Labour at VVGNLI and State Level Centers on
Child Labour at State Labour Institutes Kolkata and
Bhubaneshwar, Maharastra Institute of Labour Studies, Mumbai;
Mahatma Gandhi Labour Institute, Ahmedabad; and Tamil Nadu
Institute of Labour Studies, Chennai. He has also served as
Supreme Court Commissioner in the year 1989. He has been
awarded for his achievements with Indira Gandhi Excellence
Award and Rashtriya Gaurav Award. Dr Jain was Technical
Advisory Member of Social Concern Area, Institute of Applied
Manpower Research, New Delhi from 1991 to 1998. He was also
advisory Board Member of Indian Psychological Abstracts 1983
to 1988 and Awards Digest,(a bi-monthly journal of V.V Giri
National Labour Institute containing gist’s o f high Courts
and Supreme Court judgments related to labour)1987 to 1991.Dr
Jain is an advisor to State Level committee on Bonded Labour
and Child Labour of Rajasthan.
Dr. Jain has
conducted 32 research projects of the V.V. Giri National
Labour Institute including the projects given to the institute
by ILO, UNICEF and FAO. He has authored or edited about 18
books, 24 Manuals on Child Labour and 97 research articles.
Dr. Jain has been cited in a large number of national and
international biographical reference books. He has edited
Annual Handbooks on Human Resource Initiatives for the year
2003, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008. |
