The training program on "INTERNATIONAL TRAINING PROGRAMME ON PREVENTION OF HIV/AIDS AT THE WORKPLACE" was designed Enlighten the participants about the global magnitude of the HIV/AIDS problem, share basic information of HIV/AIDS with regard to its transmission, tests, prevention, WHO guidelines for the diagnosis of AIDS, management of HIV/AIDS including ARVs, Discuss the relevance of HIV/AIDS a&an issue for the world of work, examine the Legal & Ethical Issues related to HIV/AIDS at the workplace, Discuss the Principles of lLO Code of Practice oh HIV/AIDS and the process of developing Policy, examine the inter linkage between various labour market issues such as informalisation, migration, gender aspects and HIV/AIDS, Share the experiences and responses pf various countries to HIV/AIDS, especially in relation to World of Work, discuss various policies, programmes and strategies for care, support and rehabilitation of HIV/AIDS affected people, enable the participants to appreciate their role and evolve strategies for a wider participation of social partners in the effort towards the Prevention of HIV/AIDS in the World of Work.

The training program on "INTERNATIONAL TRAINING PROGRAMME ON LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT FOR ADMINISTRATORS" was designed to share and experience various leadership styles, to provide insights into the leadership dynamics of inter-personal and inter-group relations, to develop communication skills particularly focusing on effective articulation and listening, to acquire skills for managing and resolving conflicts at work, to develop positive attitudes towards work, superiors, peers and subordinate, to sharpen behavioural skills and insights for supervision, coordination and motivation to the subordinates to enhance their effectiveness, to appreciate changing labour market and employment relations scenario in the context of globalization, to examine different systems and approaches to labour administration, to understand the concept and use of emotional intelligence; and to acquire knowledge for managing time effectively.

The training program on "Training Programme on Empowering trade union leaders" was designed to familirise with the changes and trends in industrial relations and labour laws, to sharpen skills of leadership and managing finance and to discuss the role of Trade Onions in emerging reforms and political scenario.

The training program on "SEVENTH INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMME ON LABOUR  ADMINISTRATION AND EMPLOYMENT RELATIONS IN A GLOBAL ECONOMY" was designed to develop positive attitude towards work, superior, peers and subordinates, to sharpen behavioural skills and insights for supervision, coordination and motivation to the subordinates to enhance their effectiveness, to appreciate the changing labour market and employment relations scenario in the context of globalisation, to acquaint with the changing profile of the workforce, trade unions and its relevance to labour administration, to develop a conceptual framework to analyse employment relations situation and problems, to examine the different systems and approches to labour adminstration, to enhance awareness about the context of labour legislation, to provide necessary knowledge regarding the new developments in labour legislation and judicial interpretations and to understand the concepts, magnitude, forms and nature of unorganised/informal segments of the workforce and to evolve appropriate strategies within the sphere of labour administration to deal with it.

The training program on "Developing positive attitude for excellence at work" was designed to experience and understanding different attitude, to experience the impact of positive attitude in personal and professional life, to develop skill to deal with negative attitudes and their impact, to understanding impact of positive attitude on organisational excellence and to develop positive attitudes at work.

The training program on "Training Programme on Industrial Relations and trade unionism in a globalising economy" was designed  to   understand   and   analyse   the   major components of globalisation that affects employment relations, to examine the emerging issues and challenges in industrial relations and trade unionism in a globalising economy and to share experiences on new forms of labour management practice.

The training program on "Training Programme on Fundamental of Labour Laws for Executives & Trade Union Leaders" was designed to develop awareness about the context of labour legislation and labour jurisprudence, to acquire knowledge of procedural as well as substantive contents of Industrial Relations Laws i.e. I.D. Act, I.E. (S.O.) Act, Trade Unions Act, to gain insight into the wage laws i.e. Minimum Wages Act, Payment of Wages Act, Equal Remuneration Act and the Payment of Bonus Act, To develop understanding of the social security legislations like Workmen's Compensation Act, Employees Pension Scheme 1995, and the Payment of Gratuity Act and to understand the laws relating to Contract Labour

 

June 20 - 24, 2005

The training program on "DOMESTIC ENQUIRY Principles & Practice for Management Personnel and Trade Union Leaders" was designed to identify factors affecting discipline in industry in order to prevent indiscipline, to understand implications of the principle of natural justice, to unravel the procedural tangles of domestic enquiry, to develop insight into the role of enquiry Officers/Presenting Officers/Workers' Representatives during the course of enquiry and to clarify the role and power of Labour Courts/ Industrial Tribunals to scrutinise the proceeding of domestic enquiry and quantum of punishment.

The training program on "Training Programme on Sexual Harassment at The Workplace  for Trade Union Leaders" was designed to sensitise the participants on the concept of Sexual Harassment at the Workplace , to orient the participants on the international concerns for combating the problem, to orient the participants on the Supreme Court Judgement on Sexual Harassment at the Workplace and strategies towards implementing the judgement, to evolve effective mechanisms to address the issue and to integrate it into workplace and to identify the role of trade unions in addressing the issue.

The training program on "Trade Union Verification" was designed to provide knowledge regarding verification procedure and difficulties faced during verification and remedial mea- sures of these, to make them aware about the role of employers, trade union officials and resource utilisation during the process of verification; and discuss laws of verification and the role of courts in verification – case studies.
