Training Programme 

on 

Empowering trade union leaders 

 

(September 19-24, 2005)

 

INTRODUCTION  

 

Events of far reaching consequences are reshaping and defining anew the social, political and economic purpose of trade union across the world. In India too, substantial changes in economic policy have thrown up new challenges for trade union.Trade union leaders needs to understand these changes and analyse their implications to serve better their members and contribute more effectively to the viability of the organisations in which they work.To enhance their effectiveness, trade union leaders need to acquaint themselves with the recent developments in human resourse management, the change in negotiation processed, the growing quality consciousness and the increasing emphasis on individual excellence and team work in the functioning of the organisation.

 

Objectives:

  • To familirise with the changes and trends in industrial relations and labour laws

  • To sharpen skills of leadership and managing finance.

  • To discuss the role of Trade Onions in emerging reforms and political scenario

  • Audio-visual Communication

  • Group Discussions

  • Concept Session

On the whole, the programme will be participative in nature.

 

Participant's   Profile

 

The programme is designed for plant-level trade union leaders sponsored by the respective

trade union or the management. The sponsoring organisation may nominate not more than five participants from one organisation.

 

Date and Duration

 

Sept. 19-24, 2005. The programme will commence on July 19, 2005 at 10.00 a.m. and will conclude on July 24, 2005 afternoon.

 

Venue

 

VV. Gin National Labour Institute Sector - 24, NOIDA - 201 301 Distt. Gautam Budh Nagar CIttar Pradesh

The Institute Campus is situated near Prakash Hospital and NTPC Ltd. and is at a distance of 20 kms from New Delhi Railway Station. NOIDA is situated at Delhi border in close proximity of Mayur Vihar, Delhi.

 

Stay Arrangement

 

Stay arrangement will be made in the hostel of VVQiri National Labour Institute. The board and loging will be provided from the afternoon of Sept. 18,2005 till the forenoon of Sept. 25,2005. The additional cost of early arrival or extended stay will be borne by the individual participants. The accommodation would be on twin sharing basis in airconditioned room with colour TV.

 

Programme Fee

 

This is a residential programme and the fee for each participant is Rs. 8.500/-. It is includes training material, board and lodging.

Only in very exceptional cases admission will be granted to non-residential participants in which case the fee will be Rs. 7,5007-. But, to ensure an effective interaction, the institute will give preference to the residential participants while enrolling them for the programme.

The fee is payable in advance by demand draft drawn in favour of V.V.Giri National Labour Institute, payable at New Delhi. The fee is not refundable once the nomination is accepted.
